In a significant development for Air Mauritius, Kremchand Beegoo has been appointed as the new chairman of the board. The announcement was made during a board meeting held on January 13, where the company also revealed its new board composition through an official statement.
The board now includes the following directors:

Notably, Joseph Edouard Charles Cartier, who is the CEO of Air Mauritius, is also a member of the board. According to the company’s regulations, all CEOs are required to serve as board members.
It has been reported that the contract stipulates that once a person ceases to be a board director, they also automatically lose their position as CEO.
Interestingly, it is important to note that a director cannot be dismissed unilaterally by the company.
Any such decision must be voted on and approved by the shareholders during a general meeting.
Should a director be removed without following this procedure, they would be entitled to claim compensation equivalent to their earnings until the end of their contract, along with potential damages.
Additionally, a director cannot resign until a decision has been made at a general meeting.
This restructuring of the board marks a new chapter for Air Mauritius as it seeks to strengthen its leadership and strategic direction moving forward.
