Legend Hill Resort & Spa to Welcome Mauritians in March 2025
In March 2025, the Mauritian hospitality scene will welcome a new addition: the Legend Hill Resort & Spa, situated along the picturesque La Preneuse Bay in Tamarin. Owned by MJ Développement and the Phoenix Hotel Collection, this resort is aiming to cater specifically to the local Mauritian market, offering specially tailored rates that make it accessible for residents.
The resort promises a range of accommodations and dining options, along with a carefully curated selection of activities designed by the Legend Hill team.
These offerings will be available on the hotel’s website, and there are plans to collaborate with local agencies to enhance accessibility for residents.
Eva Naidu, the General Manager of Legend Hill, emphasized that the hotel aims to prioritize Mauritian residents during its opening through attractive offers.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to include and preserve local culture,” she stated.
The Legend Hill Resort & Spa will feature a variety of accommodations, including rooms, suites, apartments, penthouses, and villas, all equipped with private pools.
In addition to luxurious lodging and gourmet dining, guests will have the opportunity to unwind at a spa, utilize a fitness club, and relax in an infinity pool.
The architecture and decor of the resort draw inspiration from South African lodges, harmoniously blended with local artistic elements.
Notably, the artwork of local artist Daphné Domun will adorn various spaces throughout the hotel.
For culinary enthusiasts, the resort will host two fine dining restaurants, Le 1812 and Bview, overseen by Michelin-starred chef Glenn Viel.
The development of Legend Hill was not without its challenges.
Launched in 2021, the project spans 23 acres with an investment of Rs 2 billion.
It was originally designed to include 23 villas, four apartment blocks, and facilities for dining, fitness, and spa services, located on the slopes of La Tourelle Mountain in Tamarin.
At the time, the project faced significant opposition from local residents who expressed concerns over its environmental impact, particularly regarding potential flooding and landslide risks.
As the opening date approaches, Legend Hill Resort & Spa remains committed to addressing local concerns while providing an exceptional experience for Mauritians and visitors alike.
