Introducing New Members of MBC's Board of Directors

The newly appointed members of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) board are bringing expertise from various fields, including marketing, media, academia, and public service. The profiles highlight the members’ professional backgrounds and contributions as they prepare to steer the MBC into a new era of innovation and growth.

Amaresh Ramlugan

Amaresh Ramlugan is a well-respected expert in marketing, communication, and corporate leadership, boasting over 25 years of extensive experience.

He has held senior management positions at notable institutions, including the State Bank of Mauritius and Barclays Bank Mauritius, where he also served at Barclays’ headquarters in Dubai.

Currently, Ramlugan is the Chief Executive Officer of The Concreate Agency (TCA), a leading marketing and communication agency.

Under his leadership, TCA has gained recognition for its innovative and customer-focused solutions.

A proud alumnus of Royal College Curepipe, Ramlugan holds several advanced degrees, including a Master’s in International Business, an MSc in Marketing Management, an MBA in Financial Management, and two MPhil degrees in Management Coaching and Development Finance from the Stellenbosch Business School.

Following his appointment, he expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the trust placed in him, stating:

“It is a great privilege to work alongside an individual of Alain Gordon-Gentil’s caliber. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members and the unwavering support of the staff to elevate the MBC to new heights.”

Roukaya Kasenally

Roukaya Kasenally serves as an Associate Professor in Media and Political Systems at the University of Mauritius.

Additionally, she is the Chief Executive Officer of the African Media Initiative, a pan-African organization dedicated to supporting independent media.

She also chairs the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) and is a board member of West Africa Democracy Radio.

As a specialist in democratic governance, Kasenally has provided consultancy services to numerous international organizations and earned her PhD from the University of Sheffield.

Anne Robert

Former journalist Anne Robert has made headlines by announcing her departure from the En Avant Moris movement to support the Alliance du Changement.

After spending several years in Canada, she has returned to Mauritius to engage actively in local political initiatives.

Vishnou Gondeea

Vishnou Gondeea is a former permanent secretary who worked closely with the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security before his retirement.

His experience in the public sector is expected to enhance the board’s operations.

Marie Joëlle Sandrine Valère-Bolli

Marie Joëlle Sandrine Valère-Bolli currently holds the position of Interim Director-General at the Prime Minister’s Office, where she plays a key role in the administration.

Lutchmeeparsad Ramdhun

Lutchmeeparsad Ramdhun is making a return to public service as a Senior Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, having previously served as the Director of the Government Information Service (GIS). In his new role, he will oversee the operations of the GIS.

Rajcoomaree Issur

Rajcoomaree Issur is an academic and lecturer at the University of Mauritius, contributing valuable insights and expertise to the board.

Together, these individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the newly formed board of the MBC, and their diverse backgrounds are expected to drive the organization forward.
