Authorities at Mauritius Airports are issuing a warning regarding a fraudulent Facebook page that is posing as an official account for Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport. This deceptive page is circulating multiple messages on Facebook, using the airport’s official logo and images to mislead users.

The fraudulent page is aiming to contact internet users, encouraging them to submit their personal information and persuading them to make payments.

In an official statement, the Mauritius Airports Company (ATOL) has confirmed that this is a scam and urged the public to exercise caution.

ATOL has reported the issue to Meta, Facebook’s parent company, and an investigation is currently underway to address the situation.

Users are advised to be vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any communications purporting to be from the airport.
