In a recent development, Rao Ramah has been relieved of his duties as the General Manager of the National Transport Company (CNT). Ramah, who took over the position from Hoolass Lochee on August 20, 2020, had his contract renewed for an additional three years last August.

Prior to his role at CNT, he served as the Project Director for the Mauritius National Identity Card Scheme.

Upon being contacted for comment, Rao Ramah confirmed the news of his dismissal, stating, “I confirm the news and, indeed, I have been revoked. I find it fair and I was expecting it.”

He referenced the constitutional provision allowing a new minister to appoint a different individual to this position, noting:

“This has always been the case when there is a change in government.”

As of now, there are no details available regarding Ramah’s successor.
