Curepipe: La Flora Road Segment Now Open for Traffic

As of Saturday, December 14, the road segment connecting Curepipe and La Flora has been officially opened for public use. On the eve of this milestone, a site visit was conducted by Ajay Gunness, the Minister of National Infrastructure, alongside Rajen Narsinghen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During a press conference, Minister Gunness highlighted the significance of this newly operational section, noting that it will play an important role in alleviating traffic congestion and improving accessibility and traffic flow for commuters traveling to Rivière-des-Anguilles and Camp Diable.
Gunness emphasized that this project, which has been executed in multiple phases, has been designed to gradually become operational as construction progresses through each stage.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to pursuing additional road decongestion projects using available resources, despite the current economic challenges.
In addition to the opening of the Curepipe – La Flora segment, Minister Gunness also announced two upcoming projects: the rehabilitation of the Beau Champs bridge in Bel Ombre and the construction of a connector road from Réduit-Ébène to the highway.
