The results of the 2024 Primary School Achievement Certificate (PSAC) evaluation will be announced on December 12, 2024. Following the announcement, remedial classes for the retake examinations will take place from December 13 to December 18, 2024, across 50 primary schools.

The retake examinations are scheduled for Thursday, December 19, Friday, December 20, and Monday, December 23, 2024.

Candidates will receive their results from the Mauritius Examination Syndicate by no later than Monday, January 6, 2025.

This information was shared during the Council of Ministers meeting on Friday, December 6.

For students who do not meet the PSAC requirements, three options will be available based on their 2024 results:

  1. Retaking Core Subjects: Students will have the opportunity to retake key subjects by sitting for up to three retake examinations in December 2024 for the subjects they did not pass.
  2. Repeating Grade 6: Students may choose to repeat Grade 6 in 2025 at their respective schools. They will receive dedicated remedial classes from trained educators and will then have the chance to sit for the PSAC evaluation in 2025.
  3. Admission to Secondary School: Students can also opt for admission to a secondary school in 2025, where they will follow a new skills-focused program in literacy, numeracy, and practical knowledge.

These options are aiming to provide support and pathways for students to succeed after the PSAC evaluation.
