12 Mauritius Fitness Challenge Athletes Chosen for 2025 International Event
The Mauritius Body-Building and Fitness Federation (MBBFF) has introduced an exciting new event, the Mauritius Fitness Challenge. Following the inaugural national competition held on Sunday, November 24, at Glen-Park, twelve athletes have been chosen to represent Mauritius in the upcoming International Fitness Challenge set to take place in June 2025.
The first edition of the Mauritius Fitness Challenge attracted 23 participants, who competed across three categories – Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Athletes utilized various fitness equipment, performing physical exercises tailored to their respective categories.
It is important to note that the intensity of the exercises varied significantly between the different levels, with the Gold circuit being the most challenging, followed by Silver, and then Bronze.
The following athletes emerged victorious and secured their spots for the international event: Sanjay Samben, Louis Clément Rivière, Damien Appanah, and Ruth Thésée represented the Bronze circuit.
From the Silver circuit, Manav Bissesur, Oomeshwarsing Munhurun, Rushil Zeline, and Muktar Khudurun will also compete for Mauritius.
Completing the roster, the Gold circuit representatives include Kamlesh Lochun, Ritikesh Thakurdas, Dawood Fakira, and Ashley Kaniah.
The Fitness Challenge itself is a rigorous athletic competition where participants aim to complete as many repetitions as possible across six strength training stations within a two-minute timeframe, followed by a two-minute rest between each station.
Alexandre Albert, a recent graduate in fitness training, is overseeing the event in Mauritius.
On competition day at Glen-Park, he was joined by other instructors and officials to track the athletes’ repetitions and ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Additionally, the MBBFF is currently in negotiations with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) to secure the organization of the International Fitness Challenge 2025 in Mauritius, further enhancing the island’s reputation in the world of fitness and bodybuilding.
