Parking Restrictions in Flood-Prone Areas of Port-Louis

Due to a severe rain warning issued this November 22, several police and fire units have been deployed to flood-prone areas in Port-Louis. The National Emergency Operations Command (NEOC) is urging drivers to exercise caution, particularly in the capital city.

Parking has been prohibited along specific streets due to the potential for flooding. The restricted areas include Poudrière Street, the Chaussée, and near the Ruisseau du Pouce.

Authorities also recommend avoiding parking in risky zones such as underground parking facilities.

The Vacoas Meteorological Station issued the severe rain warning on Friday, November 22 at 5:00 AM, which will remain in effect until 4:00 PM.

The forecast indicated that a convergence line linked to Tropical Depression Bheki continues to impact the weather conditions on the island.

Residents and motorists are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this weather event.
