MTC Secures Exclusive Rights to Champ-de-Mars Racetrack

The news has recently been announced: the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) has been granted exclusive rights to use the Champ-de-Mars racetrack. This decision came from the Côte d’Or International Racecourse and Entertainment Complex Ltd (COIREC), which accepted the MTC’s request for exclusive access submitted in August.

As of Friday, November 22, the MTC has assumed control over the Champ-de-Mars racetrack.

It is important to note that another entity, Elite Horsracing Ltd, which is inexperienced in organizing races, had also applied for the opportunity to operate the Champ-de-Mars.

However, their application was denied.

The MTC’s new exclusive rights are expected to have significant implications for the horse racing scene in Mauritius, marking a new chapter in the management of one of the iconic racetracks.
