Severe Rainfall Alert In Effect for Mauritius until Friday Nov 22
A severe rainfall alert has once again been issued for the island of Mauritius, valid until Friday, November 22, at 10 a.m. This information was released in a bulletin by the Vacoas meteorological station early Thrusday, November 21.
According to meteorological officials, “Clouds associated with tropical depression Bheki continue to influence local weather conditions.
The weather will be predominantly cloudy, with occasional moderate to heavy showers and a risk of thunderstorms.
Consequently, a warning for severe rainfall is currently in effect for Mauritius.”
In light of the predicted severe weather, the public is advised to take the following precautions during heavy thunderstorms:
- Stay indoors and avoid open areas, hiking, or going out to sea. Furthermore, seek shelter in places other than under trees.
- Steer clear of locations prone to water accumulation.
- Exercise extreme caution while driving, as visibility may be significantly reduced due to heavy rain and fog.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and to stay updated with further weather advisories.
