434 out of 692 Companies Comply with Salary Relativity Regulations

As of this month, 434 companies inspected by officials from the Ministry of Labor have successfully implemented salary relativity adjustments. This means that 62% of the companies reviewed have adhered to the required salary adjustments aimed at ensuring fair pay.

The inspections carried out by the Ministry of Labor were focused on assessing compliance with the newly introduced salary relativity measures.

Among the inspected companies, 434 have made the necessary changes to their employee pay structures, while 258 have not yet complied but have committed to doing so in the near future.

In total, these 692 companies employ approximately 83,612 workers, which includes 59,129 Mauritian citizens and 24,483 migrant workers.

In related news, a Judicial Review initiated by Business Mauritius is set to take place on November 25, in which the organization will contest the decision-making powers of the Minister of Labor regarding the implementation of salary relativity.

This development is being closely monitored.
