Sgt. Basdev Bhundoo: “Mauritius is Breathing an Air of Freedom”

Sgt. Basdev Bhundoo proudly donned a multi-colored flag as he congratulated the candidates of the Alliance du Changement. “Today, Mauritius is breathing an air of freedom. The struggle has been long, but it was worth it. We had to do it for the future of our children,” he stated in an interview with Défi Quotidien.

Bhundoo emphasized that he has always performed his duties without any political affiliation.

It is important to recall that on November 7, he was taken into custody by the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) following a comment posted on his Facebook account.

He recently made headlines after filing a complaint against the Commissioner of Police, whom he accuses of orchestrating his two transfers.

His alleged offense was simply “greeting the Alliance du Changement candidate, Dhaneshwar Damry, during a door-to-door campaign.”
