Police Transfers Reshuffle as New Government Takes Office

On Tuesday, November 12, at 6 PM, the police commissioner officially resigned from his position. This marked the beginning of a series of personnel transfers aimed at establishing the security detail for the newly appointed Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam.

Following the resignation, the Central Police Headquarters approved an initial set of transfers involving a total of 13 officers.

This group is including one assistant superintendent, four chief inspectors, seven inspectors, and one sergeant, all of whom are assigned to the Very Important Person Security Unit (VIPSU).

They will now be integrated into the Special Mobile Force (SMF).

In recent changes, two officers from the SMF have been reassigned to the Northern Division and the Central Division, respectively.

Additionally, two chief inspectors and one inspector from the VIPSU have been moved to the Traffic Branch.

Starting November 13, one inspector from the VIPSU has been reassigned to the Cent-Gaulettes station.

Furthermore, two sergeants from the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will be transferred to the southern division of the CID.

In another rearrangement, two police inspectors have exchanged their assignments, moving from the southern division of the CID to the Airport CID at Plaisance.
