Four British parliamentarians are currently in Mauritius serving as unofficial observers. The delegation includes Conservative MPs Sir Geoffrey Cox, Dame Rebecca Harris, Graham Stuart, and David Mundell, who are visiting at the invitation of the Alliance of Change.

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 9, the group visited Daneswock Sewraz Primary School in Triolet to observe the electoral process.

This visit happened amidst controversy for Sir Geoffrey Cox, the former UK Attorney General.

He has faced significant criticism for missing several parliamentary duties and votes while working as a lawyer in Mauritius, where he has been involved in a constitutional dispute against Police Commissioner Anil Kumar Dip.

Earlier that morning, November 9, Irfan Rahman, the Electoral Commissioner, confirmed the presence of official observer delegations from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) in the country, adding an international dimension to the electoral oversight.
