Supreme Court Grants Ramgoolam Permission to Manage Labour Party Bank A/c
On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Navin Ramgoolam received the green light from the Supreme Court to manage a bank account at the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB). This account was originally opened in the name of the Labour Party by the late party treasurer, Ah Fat Lan Hing Choy, along with Navin Ramgoolam himself.
The decision was made by Judge Shameen Hamuth-Laulloo in response to a request submitted by the leader of the Labour Party, Ramgoolam.
This development is marking a significant step in the ongoing management of the party’s financial affairs, as Ramgoolam resumes authority over the account that has been a focal point in the party’s financial operations.
