Rivière-du-Rempart: Suspicious Noises at Secondary School Prompt Police
In Rivière-du-Rempart, Dr. Pravish Sookha Rai, the campaign manager for the Alliance du Changement, reported a concerning incident to local police regarding unusual noises heard at the Simadree Virahsawmy Secondary School.
This school is scheduled to serve as a ballot counting center for the upcoming general elections.
On the night of November 7, Dr. Sookha Rai was alerted by his agent about the sounds of hammering and creaking coming from the school premises.
Upon arriving at the location, he discovered six vehicles parked nearby, including two marked as part of the Special Support Unit.
These vehicles left the area shortly after Dr. Sookha Rai’s arrival.
Upon inspection, the police noted that several doors were found open and that there were no security measures in place to protect the site.
Given the situation, Dr. Sookha Rai has called for a thorough inspection of the school and a review of any available surveillance footage to ensure security and transparency in the lead-up to the elections.
