Major Cannabis & Firearms Seizure at Morne: 3 Arrested

On the morning of Monday, November 4, a significant operation took place off the coast of Morne, resulting in the seizure of approximately 100 kilograms of cannabis and firearms. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around 300 million rupees.

The operation led to the arrest of three individuals who were found aboard a speedboat traveling from La Réunion.

This successful interception was the result of a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies, including the Customs and Anti-Narcotics Section, the Maritime Intelligence Cell of the National Coast Guard, and the Crime Intelligence Unit.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector Chukowry and ASP Mooniaruth.
