Alliance du Changement Promises 14th Month Salary upon Winning
In a bold commitment made on November 5, Navin Ramgoolam, the leader of the Alliance du Changement, announced that employees will receive a 14th month salary in January 2025, should they secure victory in the upcoming elections. “We keep our promises. What we say, we will do,” Ramgoolam stated, emphasizing the coalition’s dedication to fulfilling their pledges.
This assurance is not only supported by Ramgoolam but was echoed by Paul Bérenger, leader of the Alliance Lepep, during a political rally on November 3 in Phoenix.
Bérenger confidently asserted, “We are here, and we will pay,” reinforcing the coalition’s commitment to financial benefits for employees.
Ramgoolam also addressed the concerns of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), stating, “We must support these businesses.
It is unacceptable for them to be forced to shut their doors just because they cannot cope.”
He acknowledged that consultations with the private sector would be necessary to ensure the well-being of SMEs, stating:
“Consultations will be vital. We have made it clear that we will not let the small and medium enterprises suffocate.”
Additionally, Bérenger reminded the audience of the economic revival that took place in 1995, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver results similar to the previous success.
He mentioned the current economic situation would be thoroughly evaluated after their potential victory.
It’s important to note that the outgoing Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth, had also announced a year-end bonus, equivalent to a 14th month salary for all employees and pensioners during a gathering on November 3.
Furthermore, he indicated that his upcoming government would provide interest-free financing for small and medium enterprises.
