Maulana Files Complaint Against MBC Director at CCID
Maulana Shamim Khodadin has officially lodged a complaint October 30 morning at the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) against Anooj Ramsurrun, the director of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).
The religious leader is claiming that a recording is currently circulating on social media, allegedly featuring Ramsurrun’s voice, making defamatory statements and promoting communal tensions directed at Khodadin.
Accompanied by his attorneys, Me Assad Peeroo and Naushad Paurobally, Maulana Khodadin provided investigators with a copy of the audio recording.
Speaking to the press after leaving the Central Barracks, he asserted that such remarks are unacceptable and could potentially incite unrest during the ongoing electoral campaign.
Khodadin emphasized the need for accountability in public discourse, especially in a politically sensitive environment.
