Nomination Day: Candidate Registrations Open on October 22

Tuesday, October 22 marks the official opening of candidate registrations for the upcoming legislative elections scheduled for 2024.

Aspiring candidates hoping to secure a place on the ballot, set for November 10, are required to visit one of the 20 designated centers to complete their registration.

This year, the Electoral Commission has made significant changes to the registration process.

Instead of utilizing primary schools or secondary institutions—where the PSAC examinations will be taking place—candidates can submit their nominations at various community centers and social welfare facilities across different constituencies, both in Mauritius and Rodrigues.

This shift is aiming to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process while accommodating ongoing examinations.
