In a recent meeting with Navin Ramgoolam, the leader of the Labour Party, Sherry Singh, the former CEO of Mauritius Telecom and current leader of One Moris, expressed his strong disapproval of the current government led by the Mauritian Socialist Movement (MSM).

Singh accused the government of hypocrisy and utilizing a team he described as “vermin” to create targeted videos attacking political opponents.

“These are individuals who lack integrity; they are colluding for their own gain,” Singh stated.

During a press conference following his meeting with Ramgoolam, Singh questioned the Prime Minister’s credibility regarding past allegations surrounding the so-called “coffres forts” (safes) linked to Ramgoolam.

“For ten years, you’ve been talking about the safes; do you have any yourself? What are you hiding? A baby bottle?” he challenged, emphasizing the absurdity of the Prime Minister’s previous statements.

Singh elaborated on his reasons for allying with Ramgoolam, citing a shared political vision and a sense of unfinished duty.

He expressed his concern regarding the current political environment, stating, “People can no longer tolerate this dictatorship.

We did not realize that a certain individual would wish to transform our country in such a dangerous manner.” Singh firmly called for a change in the political landscape.

In response, Navin Ramgoolam welcomed Singh’s support, acknowledging his capabilities and expressing optimism about their coalition: “We are all aware of his abilities. I extend a warm welcome to him.”

This meeting signals a potential shift in the political dynamics of Mauritius, as Singh and Ramgoolam aim to unite against the current government’s practices.
