Jacques Tsang Man Kin has expressed his disappointment over the absence of Sino-Mauritian representation in the Alliance Lepep. The Sino-Mauritian community, which comprises approximately 8,000 members, found no representation among the 60 candidates officially presented by the Alliance Lepep.

Tsang Man Kin, a former president of the Chinese Business Chamber and a member of the United Chinese Association, voiced his concerns, stating that members of the Sino-Mauritian community possess significant qualifications and skills.

He added that the decision to exclude Sino-Mauritians from the candidate list could adversely affect the contributions of China to the island of Mauritius.

In response to these concerns, Xavier Luc Duval, Leader within the Alliance Lepep, acknowledged the vital role of the Sino-Mauritian community in the country’s economic development.

He emphasized that the Mauritian Social Democratic Party (PMSD) and its Alliance Lepep partners hold a deep respect for this community and are attentive to their needs and concerns.
