Sakeesingh had been presented to the members of the Alliance Lepep during a meeting held at Pavillon in Quatre-Bornes on Monday evening, October 7, but he ultimately decided against running for election in this urban constituency.

With Sakeesingh stepping aside, questions arise about who will now be the new running mate for Xavier-Luc Duval and Kavy Ramano in constituency number 18.
