Resignation of Parliament Speaker

Adrien Duval has officially resigned from his position as Speaker of Parliament on Saturday, October 5. He submitted his resignation letter to the Clerk of the National Assembly, as confirmed by a statement released on the same day.

Duval’s decision is in response to the Prime Minister’s recent announcement regarding the dissolution of Parliament.

Following this announcement, it has been confirmed that Nomination Day is scheduled for October 22, with general elections set to take place on November 10, 2024.
