Moderate Tropical Storm “ANCHA” Develops Southeast of Diego Garcia

As of 4 AM on Thursday, October 3, moderate Tropical Storm “ANCHA” was located southeast of Diego Garcia, positioned at approximately 12.3 degrees south latitude and 73.0 degrees east longitude.

The storm is currently moving in a general south-westward direction at a speed of about 18 kilometers per hour.

According to the Vacoas Meteorological Station, “ANCHA” is not expected to impact weather conditions across the Mascarenes over the next two days.

Looking ahead to the next 24 hours, residents can anticipate cloudy periods accompanied by rain showers this morning and into the afternoon.

Some of these showers may be moderately intense, with a chance of thunderstorms. However, gradual improvement in weather conditions is expected thereafter.
