Progress on the Terre-Rouge Fly-over: Final Stages Underway
The construction of the Terre-Rouge fly-over is entering its final stages, as reported by General Construction Ltd. The company expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are entering the final stretch!”
Currently, the main structure of the fly-over is complete. While one team is focused on finishing touches on the deck, another is actively working on filling in the access ramps.
Over the past few weeks, precise work has been done installing cornices, which often takes place during nighttime hours.
These cornices serve both an aesthetic purpose and a functional one, as they provide a finishing touch to the structure and protect the edge of the slab.
Additionally, they will be used to secure guardrails and other safety equipment.
General Construction has mobilized a team of 70 workers to construct the fly-over, which will span the roundabout below.
The project features a 325-meter-long bridge with access ramps extending a total of 134 meters.
This development is part of the broader Koup Riban initiative under the Jugnauth administration, paving the way for improvements in infrastructure ahead of the upcoming legislative elections.
