Shakeel Mohamed, a member of the Labour Party, has raised questions regarding Donald Payen’s dual capacity as President of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) and Senior Advisor to Minister of Tourism Steven Obeegadoo, particularly in relation to his position as a director at Luxury Retirement Village Ltd located in Réduit Triangle.

The presence of Payen in such influential roles has sparked concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the overall perception of governance in this context.

Mohamed has emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity within public service, principles that align with the commitments of the Alliance du Changement.

Moreover, Mohamed is calling for the full disclosure of the list of beneficiaries of state-owned land, asserting that such transparency is vital for public trust and accountability.

Despite multiple attempts, Defi Media was unable to secure a response from Donald Payen regarding these pressing issues.
