Rs 23,000 Per Tonne: Sugar Prices Dive, Call for Specialty Sugars Production

In a recent general assembly held on Thursday, Devesh Dukhira, the director general of the Sugar Syndicate, announced that the price of sugar has dropped to Rs 23,000 per tonne. He expressed concern that this figure is significantly lower than the prices observed over the past two years.

During the meeting, Dukhira emphasized the need for the industry to enhance the production of specialty sugars.

He urged stakeholders to adopt a more flexible approach in order to explore and access more profitable markets.
