In a recent statement, opposition leader Arvin Boolell criticized the Prime Minister’s announcement of interest-free housing loans for individuals aged 18 to 35, labeling the initiative a “crime against the youth.” Boolell’s comments came during a wreath-laying ceremony held on September 11 at the Samadhi of Sir Satcam Boolell in Vallée-des-Prêtres, an event commemorating the 104th anniversary of the birth of Sir Satcam Boolell.

During the ceremony, Boolell highlighted the negative impact of the depreciating rupee, arguing that it undermines the potential benefits of the housing loan program.

He emphasized that the alliance between the PTR, MMM, and ND is prepared to propose more effective solutions, contingent on a stable currency.

Boolell expressed confidence in his coalition’s prospects, claiming, “We are on the path to victory.”

He believes that a more comprehensive approach, rather than the current temporary measures, is essential for addressing the housing needs of young people in the country.
