Respiratory Infections Surge: 4,262 Cases Reported in 1 Week

Between August 26 and September 1, a total of 4,262 cases of acute respiratory infections were reported, averaging more than 700 cases per day.

This alarming statistic was shared by Dr. Fazil Khodabocus from the Ministry of Health, who attributes the increase to unusually low temperatures for this time of year.

Dr. Khodabocus noted that the reported infections encompass a range of illnesses, including influenza, rhinovirus, and COVID-19.

In light of this rising trend, he strongly recommended that individuals get vaccinated to protect themselves and reduce the spread of these infections.

For those interested, vaccines are readily available at all regional hospitals. Vaccination services are offered Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 3 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 11 AM.
