Social Worker Shines Light on Illegal Detox Centers
On Monday morning, September 2nd, social worker Ally Lazer submitted a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to raise concerns about the existence of illegal detox centers operating across the island.
Lazer emphasized that the lack of oversight in these facilities jeopardizes the quality of care, which could further worsen the conditions of individuals in distress.
In his letter, Lazer called for the immediate closure of these unauthorized centers and urged the government to strengthen regulations to protect patients.
He advocated for a fair distribution of resources in order to ensure that individuals seeking help receive appropriate treatment.
