Tragic Death of British Tourist on Arrival at Lakaz Chamarel

In a heartbreaking incident, a British tourist, David Holloway, lost his life on the very day he arrived in Mauritius. The 76-year-old had expected to enjoy a peaceful vacation in the island’s southern region, but fate had other plans.

On Thursday, August 29, shortly after his arrival, David was found in a pond outside his hotel suite at Lakaz Chamarel.

It was hotel staff who made the grim discovery just hours after he checked in alone.

David was reportedly in distress in the water when staff members attempted to rescue him.

They managed to bring him back to the terrace of his suite, but despite their efforts and subsequent first aid attempts, he did not respond to resuscitation efforts.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and when they arrived, they found David’s lifeless body on the wooden floor of the terrace entrance.

There were no apparent signs of foul play or violence on his body; he was still dressed in the clothes he had arrived in, which included pants, a T-shirt, and shoes.

The La Gaulette police were also notified of the incident. His body has since been transported to the morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
