Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill Elects New Mayor & Deputy

David Utile, a member of the Muvman Liberater (ML), has been unanimously elected as the new mayor of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill, with Nazir Junggee from the MSM (Mouvement Socialiste Militant) stepping in as his deputy.

The elections took place on Wednesday, August 28.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Joe Lesjongard, the Minister of Public Services, and Anwar Husnoo, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Local Authorities.

Also present were Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, the Minister of Social Security, as well as Ivan Collendavelloo, the leader of the Muvman Liberater, along with party members Ismaël Rawoo and Toolsyraj Benydin.
