Speculation is growing regarding potential leadership changes in the municipalities of Curepipe and Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill, possibly linked to ongoing political maneuvers ahead of the upcoming electoral campaign.

There are indications of a possible coalition between the Progressive and Socialist Party (PMSD) and the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM).

According to Defi Media’s sources, these changes may occur imminently.

At present, limited information is available concerning the underlying reasons driving these potential adjustments.

Attempts to reach Curepipe’s mayor, Devika Pabaroo, for comment proved unsuccessful as she was unavailable.

In contrast, developments in Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill suggest a shift may be on the horizon.

It has come to light that a high-level meeting was held last Friday, August 16, to discuss these changes. Current mayor Rajenee Mootoo Caroopen expressed her opposition to the proposed shift in leadership.

In an interview, she stated that she believes she has performed her duties effectively and has nothing to answer for, asserting her desire to complete her term in office.
