Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius – Danil, a 30-year-old plumber from the seaside town of Flic-en-Flac, endured a devastating Sunday when he returned home to find his two beloved dogs dead.

Earlier that day, he had visited a local shopping center, and upon his return around 5 PM, he was met with the heartbreaking sight of Pinky and Shane lifeless in his yard.

Pinky, a one-and-a-half-year-old dog, and Shane, a nine-month-old black Labrador, were in good health when Danil left home.

The shock of discovering their bodies led him to suspect foul play, specifically poisoning, although he has no suspects at this time.

Danil described both dogs as affectionate and full of life, making their sudden deaths even more difficult to comprehend.

In addition to his loss, Danil noted troubling signs in the neighborhood: several of his neighbors’ dogs have also gone missing.

He has observed an alarming number of stray dogs found dead on the beaches of Flic-en-Flac recently, which he believed may be victims of the same poison.

The local police were notified of the incident, and the case has been referred to the Ministry of Agro-Industry for further investigation.

An autopsy for both dogs has been scheduled for Monday, August 12, at the veterinary division in Réduit.

The results of this autopsy are expected to confirm the suspicion of poisoning and will guide the investigation moving forward.

This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many dog owners in Flic-en-Flac deeply concerned about the safety of their pets.

As the investigation unfolds, residents hope for answers and increased measures to protect their cherished animals.
