As the school year progresses into its third term, students across various schools are gearing up for the National Certificate in Education (NCE) exams, scheduled to take place in approximately six weeks. Excitement and pressure are palpable among students as they prepare to tackle the challenges ahead.

Sawmy Keerthi Pillay, a Grade 9 student at MGSS Solferino, expressed his commitment to his studies. “I will be participating in the National Certificate in Education (NCE) in a few months.

Like many students, I’m awaiting the completion of the syllabus so I can begin my revisions.

Knowing that exams are approaching, both teachers and students must adopt a positive and serious attitude.

This way, we can finish the program on time and dedicate one to two weeks to intense revision.

It’s essential to prepare well to achieve the eight units required for the NCE. I hope the third-semester exams will be successful!”

In a similar vein, Leisha Khelawon, also a Grade 9 student but at Seewa Bappoo Secondary School, remarked on the intensity of the academic pressure during this term.

“The journey continues for students in the third trimester. This isn’t just any typical school term; the academic pressure is more intense.

Yet, we should strive to give our best with a winning mindset. I anticipate numerous challenges, and my goal is to excel.

Students must maintain consistency and discipline in their studies. This period is an opportunity for improvement across all subjects.

Organization and dedication are key, and teachers’ availability to address students’ needs will support this effort.

It’s crucial for students to manage stress effectively, to prevent discouragement. They need to be adaptable to changes and challenges.

Setting ambitious goals can also inspire others to do the same. Wishing everyone a successful school term!”

Krishna Doharsh Lakshya Ramsurrun, a Grade 11 student at Droopnath Ramphul State College, highlighted the significance of this term.

“The third trimester is the most critical period of the academic year. It’s clear that extensive revisions will be required, and students will experience stress due to upcoming exams.

However, it’s best to approach revision with a calm mindset. Students shouldn’t be overly hard on themselves, as this can lead to even more stress than inadequate revision.

Maintaining a relaxed attitude can make study sessions more enjoyable. Teachers supply a wealth of information, but it’s up to the students to interpret and retain it.

Avoiding stress during preparation is key, and getting enough sleep is vital for retaining information.”

Meanwhile, Jesse Sacha Joshua Rosette, a Grade 10 student from James Burty David Secondary School, noted the heightened expectations that come with the new term.

“As we approach the start of the third term, there are high expectations for both students and teachers.

This term is crucial for consolidating our knowledge and getting ready for final exams. Students are encouraged to maintain a dynamic and engaged approach. Curiosity and determination are essential.

We need to uphold discipline and be present in class to maximize our learning experiences. Teachers play a critical role in disseminating knowledge and serving as mentors.

Their approach should be supportive and motivating, fostering active participation in class and providing personalized assistance to each student.

Together, students and teachers can transform this term into a period of academic and personal success.”

As students gear up for the essential weeks ahead, the collective commitment to study and personal growth sets an optimistic tone for the challenges they face this term.
