Traffic Diversions in La Louise Due to Labour-MMM-ND Meeting
This Sunday, August 11th, residents and visitors in La Louise, Quatre-Bornes, should prepare for significant traffic diversions as the alliance of the Labour Party, MMM, and New Democrats holds a political meeting at the Taxis Square. The notice regarding these changes was issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police on Thursday, August 8.
Starting from 8 a.m. on Sunday, various traffic alterations will be in effect, which include detours for buses and heavy vehicles, alongside the temporary relocation of the La Louise taxi station. Additionally, specific parking areas will be prohibited.
Buses arriving from Vacoas will be redirected to SSR Avenue and Tulipes Avenue, before continuing along St-Jean Road towards the Quatre-Bornes station.
Buses coming from Port-Louis, Rose-Hill, and Saint-Pierre via St-Jean Road will be rerouted to Tristan D’Avice Avenue.
They will then be able to turn right at the roundabout with Cossigny Avenue to rejoin their regular route on Vacoas Road.
For the bus route 68, which runs from Rose Hill via Berthaud Avenue, the diversions will include a redirect to Sir Virgil Naz Avenue, Labourdonnais Avenue, and St-Jean Road. Buses traveling from Bambous along Palma Road will also be diverted, following Seeneevassen Avenue, Berthaud Avenue, Ollier Avenue, and Victoria Avenue, eventually reaching the Quatre-Bornes terminal.
The taxi station will be temporarily moved to Bassin Road, near the Mandir, as well as along Palma Road close to the bus stop heading towards Flic-en-Flac.
Furthermore, restricted parking zones will be established, particularly on Tristan D’Avice Avenue between St-Jean Road and SSR Avenue, as well as on Cossigny Avenue, from its junction with Tristan D’Avice Avenue to Vacoas Road, among others.
Drivers who do not adhere to these regulations may face legal consequences.
Motorists and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays and ensure a smooth travel experience on the day of the event.
