Mauritius Post Issues Warning About SMS Scams Targeting Public
The Mauritius Post has issued a warning to the public regarding scams conducted via SMS. This alert issued after numerous reports from individuals who claimed to have received messages or emails stating that their parcels could not be delivered due to an incomplete address.
These messages often contain a link that leads to fraudulent websites.
According to officials at Mauritius Post, this is a scam that has resurfaced. Jayraj Ittoo, the Head of Business Development and Projects at Mauritius Post, confirmed that similar fraudulent activities were reported last year.
He emphasized that the organization has already notified the police about these scams and urges Mauritians to remain vigilant.
The public is advised to avoid clicking on any suspicious links and to verify the authenticity of any communication related to parcel deliveries.
