In a statement released on Monday, August 5, 2024, Air Mauritius announced the reintroduction of code-share flights in partnership with Malaysia Airlines. This collaboration aims to enhance travel options for passengers wishing to explore Malaysia, Asia, Australia, Africa, and beyond.

According to the statement, travelers can expect a seamless travel experience with convenient connections available through the primary hubs of both airlines, namely Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KUL) and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) in Mauritius.

By placing their respective flight codes—“MH” for Malaysia Airlines and “MK” for Air Mauritius—on key destinations, the airlines are working to improve connectivity and convenience for travelers eager to discover the diverse cultures and cities awaiting them.

Customers of Malaysia Airlines will gain access to a broader network beyond the airline’s current offerings, including direct flights between KUL and MRU.

This i s opening up opportunities for passengers to enjoy the tropical paradise of Mauritius for their next vacation or to explore Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB), on flights operated by Air Mauritius.

Additionally, Air Mauritius will place its code on domestic flights operated by Malaysia Airlines to popular destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Kota Bharu, Kuantan, and Johor Bahru.

This arrangement will also allow connections to various international destinations from the KUL hub.

The statement highlighted that whether travelers are looking to immerse themselves in the cultural gems of Bangkok, Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, or wish to venture into the vibrant cities of Singapore, Hanoi, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh City, the partnership offers numerous exploration and discovery opportunities.

Passengers interested in experiencing the allure of cities like Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Seoul will also benefit from these enhanced travel options.

Overall, the reintegration of code-share flights between Air Mauritius and Malaysia Airlines marks a significant step in expanding travel possibilities for passengers across multiple regions.
