Artemis Hospital Group to Unveil 2 New Facilities in Mauritius
The Artemis Curepipe Hospital, which celebrated its first year of operation, has announced the opening of two new hospitals: Artemis Cascavelle Hospital and Artemis Coromandel Hospital.
The two hospitals, part of the Falcon Healthcare Group, are currently under construction and are expected to welcome their first patients in 2026.
At a gala dinner celebrating its anniversary, Dr. Zouberr Joomaye, President of the Falcon Healthcare Group, made the announcement.
“Our first year of operation has seen us welcome over 15,000 patients, with 7,000 admitted for treatment.
Our maternity services have delivered over 500 babies.
These numbers speak volumes about our place in the Mauritian healthcare landscape and the trust our patients and their families have placed in us.”
According to Dr. Joomaye, beyond its state-of-the-art infrastructure, the hospital’s service relies on a team of high-level medical and paramedical personnel.
The hospital has over 200 specialist doctors working there, and invested in new equipment and ongoing training to ensure continuous improvement in patient care, offering more complex and specialized treatments.
For example, during its first year, the hospital launched its neonatal intensive care unit and is soon to introduce robotic surgery.
Artemis Cascavelle Hospital, with 110 beds, will be the first private healthcare facility in the region to offer specialized and advanced medical services in various specialties such as cardiology, internal medicine, and neuroscience.
Artemis Coromandel Hospital, with 140 beds, will be a multidisciplinary hospital with a dedicated wing for modern oncology services.
The hospital will feature five operating rooms, a radiology service, a radiation therapy unit equipped with two bunkers, a PET-CT Scan, and other cutting-edge equipment.
The facility will also offer maternity services and neonatal intensive care.
The completion date for Artemis Coromandel Hospital is set for September 2026.
“We started this project four years ago with the ambition to bring a new dynamic to the private healthcare sector in Mauritius,” said Deva Marianen, Vice-President of Falcon Healthcare Group.
“We wanted to make Mauritius a hub for medical excellence in the region. Today, we are a place where we save lives and treat patients with respect.
We constantly discuss with our partners, including doctors, to provide them with the best tools to work in ideal conditions.”
The opening of two new hospitals by 2026 will further strengthen Falcon Healthcare Group’s position as the largest private healthcare group in Mauritius.
“The challenges are many, but we remain focused on our commitment to watching over the health and well-being of all Mauritians,” concluded Dr. Marianen.
