Air Mauritius Files Suit with FCC Against Ex-CCO
Air Mauritius, the national airline, has lodged a complaint with the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) requesting an investigation into allegations of corruption and abuse of office against Laurent Recoura, the Chief Commercial Officer of MK and Officer-in-Charge, who has been suspended from his duties since June 2024.
The airline is suspecting Recoura of engaging in bribery, corruption, and “using office for gratification”.
Specifically, it is alleged that Recoura provided a free business-class return ticket from Mauritius to Geneva to a Swiss journalist in November 2023.
The journalist had published an article in June 2023 praising Recoura while criticizing Air Mauritius and its current leadership.
When contacted via phone by Defi Media, Recoura declined to comment on the allegations.
