Roadcheck: 472 Motorists Fined, 62 Impaired & 8 Drug-Involved

Over the weekend 6-7 July, a massive road check operation was conducted, resulting in the issuance of fines to 4,572 motorists for various traffic violations. A total of over 20,000 vehicles were inspected during the operation.

The enforcement effort led to some disturbing findings, with 62 drivers testing positive for drunk driving after being administered an alcootest.

In addition, eight others were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

Furthermore, 414 traffic citations were issued for speeding in excess of the legal limit.

These violations are highlighting the importance of responsible driving and the need for motorists to be aware of their surroundings on the roads.
