BoM's Dedicated Desk for Your Currency Concerns

In a bid to address the concerns of individuals and businesses regarding the availability of foreign exchange, the Bank of Mauritius (BoM) has established a dedicated desk to facilitate the submission of complaints.

According to a statement released on Friday, July 12, individuals and businesses can now send their grievances to the BoM via email at fxcomplaints@bom.mu.

The Bank of Mauritius has sought to reassure the public that it remains committed to maintaining stable market conditions for foreign exchange transactions.

This move came as individuals and operators have been facing difficulties in obtaining foreign currencies on the market for several months.

Furthermore, most forex transactions are being conducted at the “forward rate,” which has resulted in foreign currencies being more expensive.

As of Friday, the US dollar was trading at Rs 47.08, the euro at Rs 51.77, and the British pound at Rs 61.41.
