Pension Funds Hold Rs 154 Billion Assures Jeewa-Daureeawoo

In a statement made on RadioPlus on Thursday, July 11, the minister sought to reassure the public following controversy over the management of pension funds.

The National Pensions Fund holds Rs 154 billion, while the National Savings Fund has Rs 43 billion, according to Minister of Social Security, Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo.

“It is false to believe that these funds are empty,” she said.

Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo emphasized that Hold Attitude, a company, has until September 30 to repay its capital of Rs 1.45 billion.
