Tragic Fishing Accident Turns Fatal for 81-Yr-Old Man

A fishing trip with friends turned into a tragic incident on Friday, July 5, in the Morne Lagoon, resulting in the death of a resident of Camp-Diable.

The octogenarian, who was accompanied by two friends, had set out for a fishing excursion along the beach and was almost at the village of Morne when disaster struck.

According to his companions, they lost sight of him at some point during the trip. The victim’s body was recovered the following day, July 6.

An autopsy was conducted, which revealed that the cause of death was asphyxiation due to drowning.
