Appointed as President, Harvesh Seegolam Steers FSC

With immediate effect from July 3, 2024, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has appointed Harvesh Seegolam as the President of the Financial Services Commission (FSC). In his new role, Seegolam will head the regulator of the non-banking financial services and international trade sector.

Seegolam, who is currently the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritius, will now preside over both the council of administration of the Central Bank and the FSC.

Prior to his appointment as Governor, he held the position of Chief Executive of the FSC.

As President of the FSC, Seegolam will be responsible for overseeing the regulation and supervision of non-banking financial institutions, including insurance companies, securities dealers, and other financial intermediaries.
