MCB's New Crew: 6 New Heads Take Charge

Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) has announced several key appointments within its leadership team, effective from July 1st, 2024. The new designations aim to strengthen the bank’s operational excellence and achieve its strategic objectives, according to a statement.

The appointments reflect the bank’s commitment to promoting internal talent and valuing the diversity of its skills.

“These nominations reflect our commitment to promoting internal talent and valuing the diversity of our skills. Confident in our leaders’ potential, I am convinced that they will guide MCB towards even more promising horizons,” said Jean-Michel Ng Tseung, CEO of MCB Group.

The new appointees are:

  • Bernard Jackson has been appointed Head of Retail. With his experience gained in the Seychelles, the bank believes he will play a pivotal role in developing the Retail sector.
  • Abraham Rawat has become Head of Banking Operations, where he will oversee important initiatives aimed at optimizing the bank’s operational performance.
  • Anju Unrowsing-Ramtohul has been designated Head of Domestic Banking, responsible for leading Retail and Business Banking entities in Mauritius. With her deep banking expertise and local market knowledge, she will join the bank’s board of directors, strengthening the bank’s leadership in these key sectors.
  • Désiré Léo has been appointed Managing Director of MCB Seychelles. His business acumen and professional track record within MCB will be essential in driving operations in Seychelles to new heights.
  • Dominic Provençal has become Head of Overseas and Para Banking Subsidiaries. The bank believes his entrepreneurial skills and extensive banking experience will be significant assets in this critical role, enabling the growth of the bank’s regional presence.
  • Pamela Chan has been appointed Head of Business Banking. With her background in Retail and Payments Operations, she will bring her banking expertise and business acumen to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The date of her appointment will be announced later.

These appointments are expected to drive operational excellence and strategic growth for MCB, solidifying its position as a leading financial institution in the region.
