Dr. Boodhoo Takes the Reins at FSC

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) has announced the appointment of Dr. Roshan Boodhoo as its new Chief Executive, effective Wednesday, June 26th. Prior to his new role, Dr. Boodhoo served as Deputy CEO of SBM Holdings.

Dr. Boodhoo is bringing a rich background in the financial sector to his new position. He holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Business Management and Finance, making him a highly qualified and experienced professional in his field. Throughout his career, he has led several financial groups in the private sector.

Sources close to the matter have described Dr. Boodhoo as “the right man in the right place,” indicating that his appointment is a strategic move by the FSC to strengthen its leadership.

Dr. Boodhoo’s appointment came after the expiration of Dhanesswurnath Thakoor’s contract in March, which was not renewed.

Under his new role, Dr. Boodhoo will be responsible for leading the FSC, which is responsible for regulating and supervising the financial sector in country.

As Dr. Boodhoo takes the reins of the FSC, he will be tasked with addressing key challenges facing the financial sector and implementing policies aimed at promoting stability, growth, and investor confidence.
