Electronic Certificates of Character Replacing Paper-Based Ones

The Attorney General, Maneesh Gobin, has announced that certificates of character are now available in digital format, complete with a QR code.

This change was made possible after the allocation of Rs 431,645 for the purchase of computer equipment necessary for the digitization of these certificates.

The contract was awarded to Mauritius Network Services, and the operations have already been completed.

New applicants can now receive their electronic certificates of character, which come with a QR code. This move aims to streamline the process and reduce the risk of fraud.
